Robert "Bobby" Bunda is a former Democratic
member of the Hawaii Senate

from 1994 through 2010, when he resigned his position in a bid for Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii

He is the first Filipino American

Senator Bunda announced on October 13, 2009, that he entered the 2010 race for Lieutenant Governor for the State of Hawaiʻi. Bunda subsequently lost the election to former state legislator and state party chairman Brian Schatz.
