Hay and DuBarry sold the majority shares of Thane in 1998 to an investment group HIG Capital, in 2002 the company then acquired direct response company Reliant Interactive Media Corp. The majority shareholders bought the company back took it private in 2004, DuBarry left in 2005 but remains a large shareholder. Thane International subsidiaries include Thane Direct
