The Khanguras are a gotra
of Jats
from the Punjab region
in mostly India
. They are mostly found in the jalandhar
Ludhiana and Kapurthala districts of Punjab
, and have accordingly 15-25 villages. They have traditionally, like many Jats, been farmers. Recently many Khanguras have emigrated to Canada
, the United Kingdom
, the United States
, and there are a few in New Zealand
and Italy
. The Khangura clan is almost all adherents of Sikhism
. Many Sikhs have originated from villages in Punjab (e.g. Bhadla (near Khanna), Aitiana, Sunet, Latala, Malikpur) and have gone to foreign countries to expand their reach throughout the world.
The Khangura Clan converted to Sikhism During the time of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ninth Sikh prophet(Guru) (1621-1675) and Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji the tenth Sikh prophet (guru) (1666-1708).
The Jathera of the Khangura Jatt Clan is Village Samrari in Jalandhar District Punjab.
There also is a village named Khangura, in Punjab. Pronounced Phagorey (www.khangura.org.in).
There is a Gurdwara named Gurdwara Baba Khabe Aana Sahib in the village. Moreover there is a cement pipe factory in the village which distribute cement pipes for underground irrigation in all over the Punjab. There is one govt school, playground, three Gurdwaras (two inside and other one outside the village). The village is situated very near to Phagwara bypass and National highway 1 (GT Road). The village is approximately 5 km away from Phagwara to Jallandar side. S. Rakhbir Singh is Sarpanch of the village at the moment.

There is also a village named Mian Khangura in district Narowal in Punjab, Pakistan. Many members of the tribe are settled there. A prominent figure, Major (retired) Ghulam Rasool Chaudhari was one of earliest army officers from the tribe. Now, his sons brigadier khalid mahmood ch and Col Ijaz ahmed ch is the second generation who are serving in Army.
The Khanguras from the village Tajpur are a know blue-blood family. Their influence extended all throughout Punjab. The Khangura clan still has the largest land holdings within their district. Prior to the partition of India and Pakistan, these Khanguras went international and are flourishing globally.
There is a village named Akoi sahib 4 km from Sangrur on Ludhiana rd. has a population mostly of khangura's only. Village has the historic gurudwara visited by three gurus "first, sixth and ninth gurus" therefore has been named as Akoi sahib.THREE more khangura persons villages in sangrur distic from sangrur 17km BATRIANA ,AKBARPUR,BIJALPUR are famous.
In Western Punjab Pakistan the clan Follows Islam while in Eastern Punjab India the Clan is mostly Sikh.
Some of the Khanguras have been reported to have a supernatural gift that transcends the physical world. It has been reported that these individuals "ball out of control", enriching themselves, their countries, and the world around them.

Distribution
In western Punjab (Pakistan) they are found in Sialkot, Narowal, sheikhupura and Gujranwala District, While In East Punjab (India) they are found in Jalandhar, Kapurthala ,Hoshiarpur (distt:-Dasuya,Pind Rodaa) and Ludhiana Districts. They are also found In Patiala, Moga, Sangrur Districts in the Malva Region of Punjab.There is also a village named Mian Khangura in district Narowal in Punjab, Pakistan. mr aslam pervaiz shaheen khangura is another reknowed khangura who owns a lot of land in rahim yar khan and he is assisted by mr usama who is an avid hunter. mr sher khangura and mr abdullah khangura are keen riders and professional golfers who are competing for open champion shipIn Western Punjab Pakistan the clan Follows Islam while in Eastern Punjab India the Clan is mostly Sikh.
Famous Khangura
Sardar Agar Singh Khangura. a Famous Sikh Warrior During Sikh Misl period Which was from (1716-1799) . He was a Famous Sikh and a Friend of Sikh Emperor Sardar Chhajja Singh Dhillon (1716-1746) of Bhangi Sikh Misl (1716-1810).Some of the Khanguras have been reported to have a supernatural gift that transcends the physical world.
