ed Kristina returns as a 16-year-old high school sophomore in the summer of 2009. An excellent student, she has her sights set on Yale. But she acts out repeatedly because of issues she has with both of her parents. She complains that she has to pretend to be "perfect" to please her mother, who would stop loving her otherwise. She also believes her father does not care about her because he allowed Alexis to shut him out of her childhood. Kristina dates an older boy (Kiefer, a senior at her school), drives without a license, goes to clubs, and even smokes marijuana as a result of her bad parents. She seems to temper her reckless behavior as she reconnects with and helps her brother, Michael Corinthos, who has just awakened from a coma. Kristina is very close to her brothers, sisters, and her grandfather Mike Corbin.
After visiting Michael at Sonny's, Kristina discovers Dominic Pirelli
in Claudia Zacchara
's bedroom and nurses him. Eventually, he asks for her help to get into Sonny's organization. Kristina has a hard time dealing with a scandal about her mother's affair with the mayor. But she helps her sister, Molly Lansing, understand and cope with the media attention.
happens across Michael screaming at Kristina, and he tells Michael to ease up. Michael leaves, but not before he tells Ethan off. Kristina thanks Ethan, who asks what happened to her face. She says she tripped. Kristina, who appears to have a crush on Ethan, compliments his singing karaoke at the "nonwedding" party for Maxie Jones and Damian Spinelli. She also asks for his number in case she needs help again and he programs it into her phone. Kiefer continues pressuring Kristina to have sex with him and in October she decides to go on birth-control pills, asking her older sister, Sam McCall, to take her to the clinic. Though told that it will be a month before the pills become effective, she reluctantly gets intimate with Kiefer for the first time only days after starting to take the pills. But instead of feeling closer to Kiefer, she looks deflated and lonely after their awkward experience in a Metro Court hotel room.
Kristina is shocked when she witnesses Sonny ripping into Claudia and threatening her life, since that is the first time she has seen him acting "like a monster." She says she finally understands why her mother was so reluctant to allow her to spend time with him. She starts to avoid Sonny in the weeks following the confrontation with Claudia and makes it clear that she presumes Sonny had Claudia killed and that this is not okay with her.
On November 25, 2009, Ethan runs into Kristina at Kelly's as he is about to get a turkey burger. They flirt again, and talk about American and Australian Thanksgiving. She reminds him that holidays are for family, which convinces him to join his family. He walks her to Robin Scorpio's, then heads to the Quartermaine mansion to see Luke. At Robin's, Kristina and Molly conspire to pair up their mother with Robin's uncle, police commissioner Mac Scorpio. Kristina's relationship with Kiefer gets rocky, as she works hard to avoid going to bed with him again. A jealous Kiefer also tells Kristina off when he sees her talking with Ethan. Carly witnesses Kiefer raising his voice to Kristina, and he quickly changes his demeanor. But a concerned Carly reports what she saw to Sonny, advising him he needs to pay more attention to his daughter. Sonny is dismissive, saying he cannot do much because Kristina is upset with him and pulling away. On December 16, 2009, Ethan shows up at Alexis Davis' house and has fun decorating holiday cookies with Alexis, Kristina, Molly and Diane. He tells them about Luke blasting music too loudly and asks Alexis for help in dealing with the voluminous police citations. Kristina clearly enjoys having him there, until Kiefer storms out in anger. Diane stops Kristina from going after Kiefer, saying that she was doing nothing wrong.
Kiefer comes over on New Year's Eve to help Kristina babysit Molly while a very reluctant Alexis goes out with Mac. Kristina is uncomfortable as Kiefer says he wishes they could be at his house instead having sex in every room because his parents are away. They kiss, but Kristina discovers Molly spying on them and frustrates Kiefer by saying they have to behave with Molly in the house. Kristina wants nothing to do with her father because she blames him for her sister Sam's kidnapping by Franco, among many other things. Kristina tells her mother that she's done trying to mend fences with Sonny. After another fight with her father, she resorted to having sex with Kiefer as an outlet for her frustration.
On February 4, 2010, one of Sonny's henchmen, Dominic Pirelli, is revealed to be Dante Falconeri
, an undercover cop and Sonny's son. Upon discovering that Sonny shot him, Kristina harshly berates him for both this and killing Claudia, eventually getting into a heated argument with Michael which climaxes when Michael snaps and shouts that he killed Claudia in self-defense and Sonny, Jason, Sam, and Carly all covered it up to protect him.
Overwhelmed by everything Michael told them, Kristina calls Kiefer over and he starts to convince her to have sex. She says no and Kiefer says that her father is trash, she defends her father. Kiefer tells Kristina that finally he agrees to what she says and she says it is not right, she then tells him to leave and to leave her alone, but Kiefer hits her. The next day, she orders coffee at Kelly's, but Kiefer follows her. She realizes that when they disagree he will hit her again. He grabs her, but Ethan Lovett
comes in and yells at him. She stands up for herself, pulls away, and invites Ethan for coffee somewhere else. They leave with her on his arm.
In March 2010, Ethan taught Kristina how to play poker. When Sam warns Ethan that he's too old for Kristina, he dates Bernie's secretary, Jennifer, which makes Kristina jealous. Eventually, Kristina blows off a date with Kiefer and has Molly hack into Ethan and Jennifer's e-mails to cancel their date before dressing up and going to Ethan at the Haunted Star, only for Ethan to reject her advances and unintentionally bruise her arm. On March 15, 2010 Kristina was badly beaten by Kiefer. Ethan came to apologize for their earlier confrontation and found her on the floor of her house. He took her to the hospital, then Sonny and Alexis were called to the hospital, where they see what she has been dealing with. To protect Kiefer from Sonny's wrath, Kristina lied and said it was Ethan who attacked her, rationalizing that Ethan's status as Luke Spencer
's son would offer him a degree of protection from Sonny. Sonny was furious. He plotted revenge on Ethan for "hurting his little girl". While still in the hospital, Kristina begged Sonny not to kill Ethan, for she could not stand the guilt of someone getting hurt because of her. Alexis intervened and Sonny agreed to keep "his hands and guns to himself". Nonetheless, Sam attacked Ethan and brutally beat him in a fit of rage for his alleged attack, and though he was ultimately bailed out of jail, he was ostracized by most of the city, who believed Kristina's story.
Jason sees holes in Kristina's story because the timeline in her version of events is off. Though Sonny, Alexis and Sam think nothing of it, Jason convinces Dante and Lucky to investigate further. Carly and Michael both believe that Kiefer was the one to hurt Kristina, mainly after Carly talks to Kristina and sees something is off. Michael wanted to return immediately after he found out about Kristina's attack but was convinced he needed to stay on the island until his father's trial is over. Ethan, Jason, Carly and Luke have all tried to get Kristina to admit the truth. Kristina all but admitted Kiefer's name to Luke. Not wanting to go to court based on a lie, Kristina convinced Alexis to drop the charges against Ethan, and when Sonny found out, he went into a murderous tirade; unfortunately, Claire Walsh
, who was prosecuting Sonny for Claudia's murder, witnessed his tirade and used it to her advantage by having Johnny lie on the stand that Sonny beat Claudia. Sonny blew up in court and went off about how Claudia got what she deserved; unfortunately, Kristina was in the court room at this time, and was left distraught and horrified by Sonny's words.
Dante, Sam and Alexis have all warned Kristina that if a guy hits a girl once he will hit her again and many other girls too, unknowing how true it is in Kristina's case. On April 2, Dante and Lucky interrogated Kiefer and realized that he was the one who attacked Kristina. Realizing that they were onto him, Kiefer attempted to convince Kristina to reinstate the charges against Ethan, but Kristina stood up to Kiefer for the first and only time and flatly refused to do so. Already angry, Kiefer snapped and beat her up again.
This time, however, Alexis arrived home and caught Kiefer leaving the house right before finding a beaten and bloodied Kristina unconscious on the living room floor. Immediately realizing the truth, Alexis drove Kristina to the hospital, accidentally running over Kiefer, who was wandering around the streets, along the way. When Kristina was admitted into the hospital, Alexis called Sonny to inform him; Sonny immediately assumed that Ethan was responsible and ordered a hit on him before Alexis had a chance to tell him the whole story; fortunately, Jason was intercepted by Lucky. Dante was the cop questioning Kristina about the incident. Although Sonny was not allowed in the hospital room, because he scares Kristina, Sonny listened outside the room. After some encouragement from Dante, Kristina finally admitted that Kiefer had attacked her both times, and had in fact been abusing her for months. Her story had both her parents in tears, but Kristina was mainly focused on making sure Kiefer was alive. Later, Molly and Sam came to the hospital, after finding Kiefer at the side of the road, only to find out Kristina had been admitted. Kristina told the truth to Molly, who tearfully blamed herself for pushing Kristina to date him. Meanwhile, Sam discovered from Jason that Kristina was indeed lying and that Kiefer was the beater, and was left shocked and guilt-ridden that she was not there for her sister and did not see it sooner when she knows better than anyone that people lie when they are scared.
Later, Kristina was told by Sam and Alexis that Kiefer had been hit by a car and died. Kristina broke down in tears, repeating "This is all my fault" over and over again. Believing that Sonny and Jason had done so, Kristina asked to see Jason, who both reassured her that he and Sonny had nothing to do with Kiefer's demise and that Kiefer had no right to touch her either way. Kristina told Jason that, whenever Kiefer would hit her, he would always apologize and try to make things better, but now nothing can make it better because he's dead. Jason comforts her as she cries.
Alexis confesses to being the one who ran down Kiefer, and Kristina forgives her, knowing that her mother would never intentionally take a human life, no matter how badly someone may have hurt her. However, Kiefer's parents, particularly his father Warren, are not so forgiving; Warren refuses to believe that Kiefer hit Kristina and is adamantly convinced that Alexis deliberately ran down Kiefer and that they are merely using him as a scapegoat
for Ethan, eventually becoming dangerously obsessed with making Kristina and Alexis pay.
With Kiefer's abuse now public knowledge, Ethan is cleared of all charges and given a clean slate. On April 20, Kristina is visited by Skye Quartermaine
, who helps her cope. Skye takes Kristina to the Haunted Star, where she apologizes to Ethan for all of the trouble she caused him, while Ethan also apologizes for handling things the wrong way. Eventually, Nikolas
brings her to Wyndemere, where she bonds with Nik's son Spencer and finally begins to heal, both mentally and emotionally.
In the June 2 episode, Kristina wakes up to find Keifer beside the bed telling her to get ready so that they can go to the beach together. She tells Kiefer she's not going anywhere with him and their get into a fight. When Kiefer hits her, Kristina wakes up from the dream with no Keifer there.
Eventually, Michael returns to town to see Kristina, but Alexis returns home and catches him at the lake house. Despite Kristina's pleas, Alexis has no choice but to call the police, but Michael escapes to the Quartermaine boathouse. Right before the verdict on Sonny is about to come in, Dante enters the courtroom and rats Michael out. Though Dante believed that Michael would be given a suspended sentence, the judge instead unfairly sentences Michael to five years in Pentonville Adult Correctional Facility. Like everyone else, Kristina is furious at Dante for his role in Michael's incarceration, but later tells Morgan and Molly that the only one to blame for it is Sonny for messing him up his whole life. Dante eventually arranges for Michael to be released on the grounds that he live with Dante and be barred from contact with Sonny, the latter of which Kristina insists is a good thing. Michael and Kristina once again get into an argument over their differing opinions about Sonny; Michael insists that Sonny really does love them, but Kristina is simply unwilling or unable to see past Sonny's flaws.
Kristina believes that her father is abusive from his past because of the relationship that Sonny
had with Carly
and Claudia
. Kristina starts to pretend to be dating her father's enemy Johnny Zacchara
to get back at Sonny. Ethan hides his jealousy of Kristina and Johnny, and tries to convince her what a bad idea the pseudo-dating with Johnny is. Though many people warn her that pretending to date Johnny is a bad idea, Kristina ignores them and continues with her plan. On July 2, she proceeds with the final part of her plan and sneaks out during a family dinner at Sonny's to hang out with Johnny. However, Johnny has finally had enough and convinces Kristina to end the charade, telling her that he believes that she does not hate Sonny as much as she thinks she does and that she is making the same mistakes Claudia did to try to win Anthony's affection. Kristina gives in, but just as Johnny is about to take her home, they are caught in a car bomb planted by Sonny; fortunately, they both escape with minor injuries.
Outraged, Kristina confronts Sonny and agrees to stay away from Johnny to keep him alive, but Sonny, finally fed up with Kristina's disrespectful attitude towards him and Alexis, lays down new ground rules for her; he gives her a curfew, cuts her off from her credit cards, and forces her to come over for dinner every Tuesday, warning her that he will take away another privilege for every lie she tells. Alexis agrees with Sonny's approach and takes away her car as well. Though unhappy with the new rules, Kristina nonetheless agrees to follow them to make up for the trouble she caused.
During this time, Kristina begins to move on from Kiefer with a boy named Taylor Wallace, though her experience with Kiefer has left her with intimacy issues.
On July 23, 2010, Kristina is one of the people involved in the hospital lockdown. Warren continued to try to prove Kiefer's "innocence," attempting to acquire Kristina's medical records for this purpose. When Kristina refused to give them to him, Warren snapped and tried to attack her, but Michael entered before he could. He attacked Warren and almost killed him, as Lucky and Ethan ran in due to Kristina yelling for help. When Warren wanted Michael arrested, they backed down and said they saw nothing. When Michael was trying to comfort Kristina, Warren walked into the waiting room with a gun and shot Mac and Ethan before turning the gun on Kristina. Michael stands up, willing to take a bullet for Kristina, but Warren is fatally shot from behind by Mac before anything else can happen. Kristina cries and is in shock. With his last breath, Warren tells Kristina that it's all her fault. Carly, running in, saw everything, then sees Kristina and tries to talk to her. Still in shock, Kristina was still crying and calling for Ethan to be saved. Carly takes Michael and Kristina into another room. Kristina, nearly hysterical, is convinced that Ethan's injury is her fault, proclaiming that none of this would have happened if she had just told everyone the truth about Kiefer in the first place, while Carly and Michael reassure her that it was Kiefer's actions that set everything in motion, and he had no right to hit her no matter what. She visits Ethan after he wakes up, and still blames herself for his misfortune, although he does not blame her. She stays after everyone leaves, and tells him she is glad he did not die because she plans on keeping him in her life for a very long time.
On July 30, 2010, Kristina meets up with Sam at Kelly's and tells her what happened with Warren. When Kristina complains about Sonny telling Michael not to fight, Sam is slightly amused by how much Kristina is becoming like Sonny. Sam tells Kristina that she thinks that she is misdirecting her anger at Kiefer towards Sonny and using that grudge to excuse her self-destructive behavior, and begs her not to waste her life by holding a grudge against her father like Sonny did.
After learning her father shot Johnny, Kristina stands outside his hospital room, sure that this is her fault, as she kept being warned that someone could die if she did not stop her pretend dating with Johnny. Ethan finds her and says this was not her fault, but it was not completely Sonny's either. He tells her that everyone has good and bad in them, and reminds her that he has a bad side of a con and thief but that does not mean he is completely irredeemable. She says she will not listen but to her he is a genuinely good guy, and is her hero.
Sonny ends up fleeing the country because nobody believed that he shot Johnny in self-defense, and Kristina is surprised to discover that she regrets hating on him and actually misses him. On September 13, Sonny returns to prove his innocence, and Kristina tells him that she's glad he came back because Michael needs him. Sonny promises to be the best father he can be to both her and her brothers, but Kristina is afraid to get her hopes up.
Subsequently, Michael returns to school, and both he and Kristina run afoul of Kiefer's best friend, Bryce. Bryce taunts Kristina over Kiefer and attempts to pick a fight with Michael, resulting in a physical confrontation in which Dante is called in. Though nearly all the witnesses sans Kristina initially tell the headmaster and Dante that Michael started the fight, Taylor, having also witnessed the fight, arrives and confirms that Bryce was the aggressor and Michael was only acting in self-defense, forcing the other kids to admit that that was indeed the case.
When Sonny is discovered as the one who planted the bomb in Johnny's car and arrested, Kristina initially appears furious at Sonny for lying and goes to the police station to confront him. Contrary to expectations, Kristina forgives Sonny and insists that the ordeal is her fault because everyone kept warning her that pretending to date Johnny was dangerous. However, Sonny takes responsibility and apologizes for letting things get this far, declaring that the worst mistake of his life was letting Kristina grow up thinking that he did not love her, because he does love her more than anything. Kristina is visibly touched by Sonny's words, and they embrace and finally make peace.
, but recovered, while her friend Ali was diagnosed with brain trauma. Ali went in for surgery, but died on the operating table. Kristina was left distraught and blamed herself, both because she attempted to set Ali up with Michael and talked her into coming on the ski trip with them and because everyone else was too focused on her hypothermia to notice that anything was wrong with Ali.
At Sonny and Brenda
's wedding, Kristina served as a bridesmaid and was the one who caught the bouquet, though Sonny jokingly stated that she was not going to get married for a few decades. Ethan and Kristina subsequently discussed her improved relationship with Sonny. Ethan offered her his hand to dance, and Kristina claimed that she would marry him someday, much to his amusement. However, after the reception, the night turned black and ugly.
Brenda was kidnapped by Theo Hoffman, now outed as an international crime figure known as the Balkan, and Sam is caught in a car bomb as a decoy; fortunately, Sam survived with only a concussion and temporary hearing loss thanks to bomb proofing. Ethan took Kristina and Molly home and stayed with them while Jason and Alexis dealt with Sam, and did his best to help them cope. Kristina admitted that she liked Ethan, but he let her down gently because of his marriage to Maya, stating that while he may cheat at cards, he never cheats on women. Undaunted, Kristina stated she could wait for him, knowing that he only married Maya for the money.
While visiting Sam in the hospital, Molly and Kristina tried to teach her sign language
. Later, Sam attempted to go for a walk while Kristina was alone with her, but she collapsed almost as soon as she set foot on the floor, much to Kristina's horror. This brought back Kristina's painful memories of Ali's death, and she became terrified of losing Sam too. Fortunately, extensive testing indicated that Sam merely fainted and was perfectly fine.
On March 10, 2011, upon discovering that Ethan and Maya needed a place to live, Kristina informed them that her neighbor was offering his guest house, and they agreed to check it out. Later, Kristina became jealous of how much time Michael was spending with Abby Haver and began plotting to break them up so she could have her brother back.
Kristina later stuck by her brother when his baby half-sister, Josslyn, was diagnosed with kidney cancer. That same night, Jake Spencer, Jason's son with Elizabeth Webber
, is hit by a car and dies despite Patrick and Robin's best efforts to save him. Upon discovering from Max that Carly is one of the suspects in the hit-and-run, Kristina accompanied Michael to the police station and caused a distraction so Michael could steal Carly's car.
Kristina took up a job babysitting Patrick and Robin Drake's daughter Emma, and Lisa Niles
offers to listen to her whenever she may need it; unbeknownst to Kristina, Lisa is merely using her to have easy access to Robin and Patrick. To this end, Lisa begins giving Kristina hydrocodone
, which she passes off as non-addictive herbal supplements, and at one point drugs her to bug
the Drake home. When Brenda's long-lost son, Lucian, is revealed to be alive and begins bonding with Sonny and Brenda, Kristina begins to fear that Lucian will throw a wrench into the progress she and Sonny have made into repairing their relationship, but Ethan reassures her that Sonny still loves her and things are not as bad as they seem, which Sonny later reaffirms.
Ethan eventually recognizes Kristina's "herbal supplements" as hydrocodone, much to her shock. Realizing that Lisa has been tricking her, Kristina informs Robin and Patrick of Lisa's visits, and Lisa is arrested when she attempts to murder Robin and frame Patrick as part of a plan. When Kristina discovers this, she is horrified and ashamed that she was so easily tricked by Lisa and made it so easy for her to go after Robin and Patrick.
Sonny, in particular, seems especially against Ethan having any sort of relationship with his daughter and has threatened Ethan's life numerous times in order to reinforce that belief. Ethan, however, has been surprisingly adamant about continuing his association with Kristina, with or without Sonny's approval, and although admirable on his part, it is not doing much in way of abating Kristina's feelings.
Their trip to the Dominican Republic only stoked the flames of Kristina's desire to be with Ethan. On June 24, under the guise of planning a trip abroad for a college class, Kristina invites Ethan to the Lake House, where she created a romantic setting and flirted with him and, ultimately, kissing him. Still, Ethan resisted her advances, maintaining that their age difference was too much and that her crush was just a phase. Undaunted, she has continued to make it clear where she stands in regards to how she feels about him—much to everyone's, especially Ethan's, annoyance—and has continued to make excuses to meet up with him. On one of these ventures, Kristina was accosted by Anthony Zacchara, who threatened her as a means to get to Sonny. Ethan intervened, much to her delight, and turned Anthony away, causing Kristina to launch into another hero-worship moment. Afterwards, Ethan, Michael, and Abby formulated a plan that involved Ethan feigning interest in Abby in order to get Kristina to back off. Kristina was not fooled, however, and she continued to make excuses to see Ethan.
Those excuses, along with the strain of knowing that he had earned both Sonny's and Anthony's ire, culminated in Ethan laying into Kristina on July 7 about her skewed perceptions about the two of them together and the "impossible" position she had inadvertently put him in with her father and Anthony. Kristina, while taken aback, is nonetheless determined to prove that Ethan does, in fact, care about her, going so far as to approach Johnny Zacchara
, Ethan's employer, with the request that he fire Ethan in an attempt to get him out of harm's way. Throughout all of this, Ethan himself has shown on numerous occasions that he could also be developing feelings for her, albeit conflicted, through the actions which he has taken in Kristina's honor, i.e. protecting her with an intensity that eventually caused Johnny to urge him to admit that he likes her.
On July 26, after leaving Johnny's penthouse with an irritated Ethan, Kristina gets mysteriously dizzy. And although she dismissed it as a head-rush, the worried look on her face leads the audience to believe otherwise.
Later, when Jax
is seemingly killed in a plane crash orchestrated by Sonny, both to keep him from kidnapping Josslyn and out of revenge for his perceived role in Brenda's departure, Kristina's animosity towards Sonny returns in full force, and she blasts him for this while he is being confronted by Alexis at the hospital. Kristina later approaches Michael, insisting that their father only cares about him when convenient, but is baffled when Michael continues to defend Sonny.
Now with Kristina back from PCU she is still determined as ever to score some time with Ethan. He on the other hand is hired by Johnny to find out what plan Skye Quartermine has with his father, Anthony. Kristna goes to the Haunted Star and offers to be Ethan's server for a card game with some highrollers. He tells her to go because he doesn"t want to see her hurt, just then Skye arrives with her eyes glued to Ethan. Ethan blows off Kristina to talk to Skye. Kristina leaves upset and tells Ethan off. While Ethan thinks he's alone with Skye, he begins telling her how messed up Kristina is, only for her to be hiding at the door listening. She leaves hurt but convinces herself it's cause he cares. She goes to the hospital to see her sister Sam and to discuss the wedding when Ethan is brought up in their conversation. Kristina insists that her and Ethan's relationship is just like Sam and Jason's. Sam tells Kristina that her and Jason are in love where as Ethan doesn't like Kristina more than a friend. This upsets Kristina and she storms off. While Kristina is walking by the docks she begins feeling light headed and collapses. She is then found by Anthony Zacchara.
At the hospital, Patrick Drake discovers that Kristina's dizzy spells are a result of a bone fragment causing pressure on her spinal cord, which both Alexis and Sam speculate may be a result of her beatings at Kiefer's hands. However, after initially being brought up by Molly, people begin to believe that the bone fragment was dislodged after she was blown up by Johnny's car, at the hands of Sonny. When Sonny arrives to see her, Kristina initially wants him to leave, but eventually relents and allows him to sit with her. Ethan encourages her to get surgery to remove the bone fragment, even at the risk of being paralyzed. She agrees to it only after he promises to dance with her at Sam's wedding, whether or not she's in a wheelchair.
After the bone fragment was removed, Kristina lost all feeling in one of her legs. She was distraught and believed she would be paralyzed. While talking to Ethan one day, he playfully pokes her leg, and she realizes she can feel her legs again.
With Kristina still on the waitlist for Yale, Alexis, out of desperation, turns to Sonny and has him pull some strings to get her in immediately. At a going-away dinner at Sonny's house, Kristina apologizes for the way she has treated her father and, finally realizing that Sonny only wanted her to have a better life than he did, thanks him for not giving up on her.

Claudia's accident
After Kiefer slaps her, Kristina goes looking for him, only to find in at the country club. Kristina becomes very distraught after Kiefer starts spending time with another girl because of her reluctance to have sex with him. Crying while driving, Kristina accidentally causes Claudia Corinthos, who is married to her father, to run off the road and miscarry her child. Michael runs away, and Kristina insists on going with him. The two have a run-in with Jerry Jacks in Cancun, Mexico, but ultimately Jason and Sam bring the teens back to Port Charles. Worried about Kristina because of Kiefer's controlling and manipulative behavior, Michael sends Max and Milo to give him a warning. happens across Michael screaming at Kristina, and he tells Michael to ease up.
After another fight with her father, she resorted to having sex with Kiefer as an outlet for her frustration.

, an undercover cop and Sonny's son.

Michael and Kristina once again get into an argument over their differing opinions about Sonny; Michael insists that Sonny really does love them, but Kristina is simply unwilling or unable to see past Sonny's flaws.

to get back at Sonny.

Pursuing Ethan
As of recent months, Kristina's crush on Ethan has re-emerged tenfold, leading her to begin to openly pursue him, despite his numerous attempts to ward her off. One such example involved her sneaking on a plane to accompany Ethan to the Dominican Republic on June 9 so that he could obtain a quickie divorce from Maya Ward, despite the repercussions she faced from her parents back home. After a few days of fun in the sun and a humorous mix-up in the divorce officiator's office, her parents escorted the two back to Port Charles.Sonny, in particular, seems especially against Ethan having any sort of relationship with his daughter and has threatened Ethan's life numerous times in order to reinforce that belief.

Throughout all of this, Ethan himself has shown on numerous occasions that he could also be developing feelings for her, albeit conflicted, through the actions which he has taken in Kristina's honor, i.e. protecting her with an intensity that eventually caused Johnny to urge him to admit that he likes her.

is seemingly killed in a plane crash orchestrated by Sonny, both to keep him from kidnapping Josslyn and out of revenge for his perceived role in Brenda's departure, Kristina's animosity towards Sonny returns in full force, and she blasts him for this while he is being confronted by Alexis at the hospital.
